Sin Nature Theology is the Opiate of the Nations
Sin nature theology is the opiate of the nations. The dulling of the conscience. The blinding of the masses. The darkness that fills the whole earth. The cup of abominations the harlot continually shares with the world to drink. Intoxicated the world reels with her. Her daughters deal in darkness and call it light, sand and call it salt, sin and call it righteousness, error and call it truth.
Revelation 17:4-6 ESV
4 The woman was arrayed in purple and scarlet, and adorned with gold and jewels and pearls, holding in her hand a golden cup full of abominations and the impurities of her sexual immorality. 5 And on her forehead was written a name of mystery: “Babylon the great, mother of prostitutes and of earth’s abominations.” 6 And I saw the woman, drunk with the blood of the saints, the blood of the martyrs of Jesus. When I saw her, I marveled greatly.
Isaiah 60:1-3 ESV
1 Arise, shine, for your light has come, and the glory of the Lord has risen upon you. 2 For behold, darkness shall cover the earth, and thick darkness the peoples; but the Lord will arise upon you, and his glory will be seen upon you. 3 And nations shall come to your light, and kings to the brightness of your rising.
The shared humanity of Christ is her rebuke, the sun of righteousness rising, with healing in its wings. The cup of his blood, his genuine humanity, the antidote. None will be able to excuse their sin on that final day. No excuses of nature will stand, for the Son of Man shared our nature! The incarnation was a statement regarding human nature, not an exception. Only in forsaking sin and returning to His path of righteousness is there peace. Abiding in love, by the Spirit, far from sin. Trusting in His promise of mercy to those who trust in His death and resurrection. Christ obeyed in His identical humanity with us by the identical Holy Spirit calling us to follow identically in His path. He fought and won the very battle of Galatians 5 we fight, with the same resources, Gods Spirit, having the same flesh war against Him, yet never yielded nor sinned:
Galatians 5:16-25 ESV
16 But I say, walk by the Spirit, and you will not gratify the desires of the flesh. 17 For the desires of the flesh are against the Spirit, and the desires of the Spirit are against the flesh, for these are opposed to each other, to keep you from doing the things you want to do. 18 But if you are led by the Spirit, you are not under the law. 19 Now the works of the flesh are evident: sexual immorality, impurity, sensuality, 20 idolatry, sorcery, enmity, strife, jealousy, fits of anger, rivalries, dissensions, divisions, 21 envy, drunkenness, orgies, and things like these. I warn you, as I warned you before, that those who do such things will not inherit the kingdom of God. 22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23 gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law. 24 And those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires. 25 If we live by the Spirit, let us also keep in step with the Spirit.
Anyone who denies Jesus came in our flesh is of the spirit of the Antichrist according to John:
1 John 4:1-6 ESV
1 Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God, for many false prophets have gone out into the world. 2 By this you know the Spirit of God: every spirit that confesses that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is from God, 3 and every spirit that does not confess Jesus is not from God. This is the spirit of the antichrist, which you heard was coming and now is in the world already. 4 Little children, you are from God and have overcome them, for he who is in you is greater than he who is in the world. 5 They are from the world; therefore they speak from the world, and the world listens to them. 6 We are from God. Whoever knows God listens to us; whoever is not from God does not listen to us. By this we know the Spirit of truth and the spirit of error.
The harlot will be thrown down with violence, and in a single hour mystery Babylon will collapse. Then the saints will rejoice at her destruction. Never to be rebuilt.
Revelation 18:2-3, 21-24 ESV
2 And he called out with a mighty voice, “Fallen, fallen is Babylon the great! She has become a dwelling place for demons, a haunt for every unclean spirit, a haunt for every unclean bird, a haunt for every unclean and detestable beast. 3 For all nations have drunk the wine of the passion of her sexual immorality, and the kings of the earth have committed immorality with her, and the merchants of the earth have grown rich from the power of her luxurious living.”...
21 Then a mighty angel took up a stone like a great millstone and threw it into the sea, saying, “So will Babylon the great city be thrown down with violence, and will be found no more; 22 and the sound of harpists and musicians, of flute players and trumpeters, will be heard in you no more, and a craftsman of any craft will be found in you no more, and the sound of the mill will be heard in you no more, 23 and the light of a lamp will shine in you no more, and the voice of bridegroom and bride will be heard in you no more, for your merchants were the great ones of the earth, and all nations were deceived by your sorcery. 24 And in her was found the blood of prophets and of saints, and of all who have been slain on earth.”
Malachi 4:1-3 ESV
1 “For behold, the day is coming, burning like an oven, when all the arrogant and all evildoers will be stubble. The day that is coming shall set them ablaze, says the Lord of hosts, so that it will leave them neither root nor branch. 2 But for you who fear my name, the sun of righteousness shall rise with healing in its wings. You shall go out leaping like calves from the stall. 3 And you shall tread down the wicked, for they will be ashes under the soles of your feet, on the day when I act, says the Lord of hosts.
Revelation 18:4-8 ESV
4 Then I heard another voice from heaven saying, “Come out of her, my people, lest you take part in her sins, lest you share in her plagues; 5 for her sins are heaped high as heaven, and God has remembered her iniquities. 6 Pay her back as she herself has paid back others, and repay her double for her deeds; mix a double portion for her in the cup she mixed. 7 As she glorified herself and lived in luxury, so give her a like measure of torment and mourning, since in her heart she says, ‘I sit as a queen, I am no widow, and mourning I shall never see.’ 8 For this reason her plagues will come in a single day, death and mourning and famine, and she will be burned up wit h fire; for mighty is the Lord God who has judged her.”
The harlot is Roman Catholicism, and its daughters born from it in the reformation. Every denomination that teaches sin nature theology. Here me correctly, genuine Christians exist in all institutions of Christianity but many wolves do also. Its the institutions and their traditions they teach that are corrupt. These chain people in their sin offering no real deliverance. ie cessation of sin and actual abiding in love.
The papacy ruled kings since Constantine. The Vatican is seated on the 7 hills of rome. The reformation (the daughters of the prostitute) continued her errant sin nature theology. Reject the cup of abominations (sin nature), walk free children of God who are in her, come out. If you believe in sin nature theology you necessarily deny Jesus became exactly what we are (i.e. the incarnation - Hebrews 2:14-18).
2 Corinthians 6:14-18 ESV
14 Do not be unequally yoked with unbelievers. For what partnership has righteousness with lawlessness? Or what fellowship has light with darkness? 15 What accord has Christ with Belial? Or what portion does a believer share with an unbeliever? 16 What agreement has the temple of God with idols? For we are the temple of the living God; as God said, “I will make my dwelling among them and walk among them, and I will be their God, and they shall be my people. 17 Therefore go out from their midst, and be separate from them, says the Lord, and touch no unclean thing; then I will welcome you, 18 and I will be a father to you, and you shall be sons and daughters to me, says the Lord Almighty.”
